✨ New on Substack ✨
This week’s Little Witchy Things has taken a different path, I’ve shared it over on my Substack. We’re exploring the theme of balance as we move toward the equinox, weaving together ritual, reflection, and the very real challenges of navigating chronic illness and flare-ups. 🌿⚖️
It’s a slower, deeper read, and I’ve included some extra reflections that didn’t make it into the blog. You can find it here: https://open.substack.com/pub/angesstudio/p/little-witchy-things-balancing-act?r=4plqqi&utm_medium=ios

✨ Little Witchy Catch-Up ✨
This week has been a slower one for me, a flare in symptoms and fatigue meant I had to prioritise rest over posting. I missed Little Witchy Things on Wednesday and my Cycles of Craft update before the Full Moon Eclipse, so here’s a quick catch-up.
Even in slowing down, I’ve been thinking about the magic of arranging your creative space. Small shifts like moving my “ponder chair” under the window, can completely change the energy and flow of your studio.
The Full Moon Eclipse in Pisces has also been stirring energies, highlighting what’s ready to release and nudging new insights. Eclipse season can feel intense, but it’s also a potent time for reflection, endings, and beginnings.
For a deeper dive into the eclipse energies, micro-release, and more studio magic, head over to my Facebook page for the latest Cycles of Craft update. Head over to Substack for an eclipse window bonus. You’ll also find the newest Art Witch Journal issue on my website, featuring Chapter 5 of Art Witch Musings and a seasonal playlist. Don't miss out on up to 40% off everything in my Redbubble store.

✨ Little Witchy Things ✨
This week, consider the practice of micro-release.
Release doesn’t always have to be grand or dramatic, sometimes it’s the quiet, daily gestures that carry the most magic. We often hold onto expectations, habits, or thought patterns long after they’ve served their purpose, and they begin to weigh us down without us even noticing. By practicing micro-release, we gently loosen those threads, creating space for new energy to move in.
Choose just one thing to let go of, an old story you tell yourself, a habit that drains rather than nourishes, or a thought that keeps you small. Write it down, dissolve it in water, or burn it as a symbolic act of release. These tiny rituals may feel simple, but they accumulate over time, clearing pathways for fresh intentions and soft shifts to take root.
This is especially powerful right now as we move toward the Full Moon in Pisces. The lunar tides are already stirring our emotions and intuition, making it the perfect moment to release what weighs heavy and soften into flow.
I’ll be sharing a more in-depth look at this in my Cycles of Craft deep dive over on my Facebook page.
Don’t forget the latest issue of the Art Witch Journal is now live on my website, featuring Chapter 5 of my Art Witch Musings, the final weeks of winter, and this month’s Artist of the Season.
🖤 A little note: some of the images I share are created with the assistance of AI. This helps me bring my vision to life while honouring the limitations of living with chronic illness and disability.

This Thursday, the Art X Metro 2025 exhibition opens at Darebin Arts Center, Preston, and I’m thrilled to share that my mixed media sculpture Wild Empress will be on display! She’s a hybrid of woodland, ritual, and regality. Crowned in gold, handmade deer antlers, draped in looping vines, and anchored with a masquerade mask. It’s a piece that holds wild feminine power, and I can’t wait for you to see her in person.🗓️ Opening Night: Thursday September 4th - 5.30-7.00pm📍 Darebin Arts Center, Preston Come say hello, explore the exhibition, and meet the Wild Empress herself. Virgo Season continues… Saturn is retrograde and eclipse season is stirring.
The next Cycles of Craft update goes live tomorrow on my Facebook page, we’ll explore what’s shifting, what’s ending, and how to realign with the season’s energy.
Take a breath, step gently, and join me.

💫 Little Witchy Things 💫
Pause & Reflect 🌙
Even though we’ve been seeing the first signs of spring since Imbolc, there’s still some of winter left to honour. Here in the southern hemisphere, our seasons are marked by calendar months, but Mother Earth flows in her own rhythm, not ours. The energy of this transitional time asks us to slow down, rather than rushing forward into the equinox.
Before you begin your day, or your creative work, take a moment to pause. Close your eyes if you can, and draw in five slow, mindful breaths. With each inhale, feel your body gently awakening from winter’s rest; with each exhale, release tension, lingering fatigue, or impatience. Notice the subtle stirrings in your body, the quiet signals that tell you what you truly need.
This is not just a moment to reset your mind, it’s a chance to reconnect with your body’s natural rhythms. Winter asks for rest, reflection, and gentle nurturing. Even as spring energy begins to stir, there is wisdom in giving yourself the time your body needs to fully wake, to stretch, to integrate, and to gather strength for what is coming.
By grounding yourself in these small, intentional pauses, you open a space for intuition to guide you. You may notice insights, emotions, or creative sparks rising from the quiet. These breaths are a small ritual of care: a reminder that the pace of life and creativity does not have to be hurried. Allow yourself to linger, to honour the threshold between seasons, and to step forward in alignment with your own rhythm.
Note on Creative Process: Some of the images you see here are created with the assistance of AI. I use these tools to support my art practice, particularly when my health and disability limit the physical demands of creating. They are part of my process, helping me explore ideas, composition, and visual storytelling while honouring the pace my body requires.
